It was a rainy season that run for months and months. The Kremt of 2010 (2002 E.C) may be remembered as one of the wettest and longest on record. It started raining as last March and Addis hasn't seen a week without a rain since then. It is now early October and the rains have finally decided to call it quits. This edition of MediaETHIOPIA's Photo Essay brings you pictures from one such rainy day of this season. It was actually in Pagumey - just few days shy of the Ethiopian New Year. First Row, Left to right: Traffic on Churchill Road, an ancient Lada negotiating the hill on the way to the Russian Cultural Center near Cathedral Catholic School, Muncipality Building seen through the foggy wind screens of a Lada taxi. This grainy image of Addis Ababa punctuated with the bright blue colors of the city's taxies is what lingers in the minds of any Addis Ababan. Second Row, Left to right: Negotiating the mini floods that routinely clean up Addis streets. Third Row, Left to right: An old man performs 'let us cross the metal bars' exercise that is so common in Addis including the Ring Road. Even the 'dof' of that day could not clear the smog from the poison-spewing trucks and cars that are destrying our cities and our lungs.
